Entry Five, FINAL BLOG, 9/28/2011 Characters:
The most important character in this story is Susan Calvin. Basically, this book is based on the evolution of robotics through the eyes of Susan, a robophycologist. Susan is a narrator in a sense, and is always a protagonist. Another important character is Stephen Bryley. Stephen is the co-ordinator of Robotic administration in this book, and he basically helps manage the entire system of robots throughout the universe. Although Stephen only appears in stories, he seems to be a protagonist who simply helps manage the robots that run the world in the 21st century. Two other main characters that appear in multiple stories are Michael Donovan and Greg Powell. Greg and Michael are two field testers who Susan remembers on multiple occasions. between field testing the first warp drive to collapsing caves in order to repair and/or determine if a robot is completely operational. Summary:
I, Robot, by Isaac Asimov was written about an interview of a robophycologist name Susan Calvin, who describes the evolution of robotics from her point of view. Her entire life was spent growing with these advancements in robotics, and her life was dedicated to the research, troubleshooting, and development of positronic brain, which can do extremely complex equations that were not possible without these brains. The control of robotics on society increases and increases until the climactic ending erupts and shows what the big picture behind this phenomenon really is. Rating:
Im going to give this book a 4.5/5 because it was a great read, with some very complex and stimulating themes, but it started slow and was somewhat challenging to get into at first. Wiki Reflections:
I believe using Wikispaces is a good idea at its base, but I wish it could be dome in a more strict and regulated way, and I wish the blogs were not homework because of the complex nature of some of these blogs. Overall, i would much prefer using Wikispaces over taking quizzes or discussing a book in class.
Entry Four; 9/16/11,page 189
Gloria has yet to reappear in the story, but a new main character, Mrs. Calvin, has appeared. Mrs. Calvin is a robophycologst, and quite literally diagnosis the problems with robots minds. Mrs. Calvin is looking back on her career as she talks to an interviewer and is discussing some of her memorable stories about her work with robots. Her work with robots has made her into a detail-oriented professional with great logical reasoning skills. I have definitely enjoyed this book thus far because of the vivid descriptions of the stories, the incredible problems in the story (like a mind reading robot that cannot hurt your feelings.), and the strange characters that appear in Mrs. Calvin's stories.
Entry Three; 9/9/2011, page 112
"A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow him to come to harm."
Bogert says this line after three of the greatest experts in robot science fall for the same trap set up by a mind reading robot. Because the robot reads minds, and cannot harm humans in any way, the robot had to tell the human what he or she wanted to hear, not the actual answer. This is my favorite line because the entire predicament they were in was rather humorous.

I have read 50 pages of the book I, Robot, by Isaac Asimov. One of the main characters in the book thus far is Gloria, a young girl who has a robot servant named Robbie. Robbie had always been Gloria's best friend. She was eight years old when her parents tried to take Robbie away from her because she doesn't play with other kids her age. After that plan failed, she got Robbie back, until seven years later new laws banned robots for the general public. Gloria is a creative and excitable girl who loves Robbie as much as her parents. She thinks of Robbie as a person, not a robot. I believe that Gloria is going to reappear in the story with some of the other characters in a different setting, probably as an adult who designs or works with robots. The setting and characters just changed where I stopped reading, so I'm not sure what these new characters will bring to the story.

I will begin reading the book I, Robot, by Isaac Asimov, as soon as the book arrives from Amazon.
This book is an older science fiction book, which means it will probably be an interesting read with some intriguing ideas.
I assume that I will enjoy this book, and I hope this book will be a good read.
